Amy Winehouse (14 September 1983 - 23 July 2011)

RIP Amy Winehouse

My condolences goes out to Mitch and Janis Winehouse,along with their family,Amy friends and fans.Every hour seems to bring a different story regarding the cause of her death,along with the incidents which led to it.

People shouldn't be so harsh,yes she had problems with bulimia,drink,drugs and even love but she was only human at the end of the day..Sadly for Amy,her mistakes cost her life.

She joined the 27 Club!

You may of heard of the latest twist in the Amy Winehouse story.It was reported that Amy predicted that she would die at age 27.This is of high significance,as this is also the age that the likes of Jimmy Hendrix,Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin also died.It's called the 27 club,as not only did they die at age 27 but they were mostly extremely popular and talented artists whose lives spiralled out of control due to their fame.


She was always 'Frank'

''You should be stronger than me'',were lyrics which were played in a regular advertisement on The Box (the music channel) for début album Frank.Where she wore a pink off the shoulder tunic on the cover,which I loved.Unfortunately it was no where to be seen even in the streets of London :(

 

That's how I remember Amy.Not the troubled 27 year old but the quirky 20 year old with the soulful voice.Who really made her mark even back then in 2003,when the industry was dominated by males artists.

I find it terribly sad that our recollection of Amy will now be a negative one,namely one that features her downward spiral.

Signs of this included:

*Her weight loss

*her drink,drugs and love addictions (mainly her obsession with her soul mate Ex-husband Blake)

*Erratic behaviour (yes I do mean examples such as hitting the paps,going out in bra etc)

*Her break-up with Reg

It is reported that Reg Traviss broke up with Amy last week when he overheard her speaking to Blake over the phone.Blake is currently in prison serving a 32 month sentence.

Lastly her death and the sad image of when her body was carried out of her housewhich is a image that will stay on most people's minds.She will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on.
