FF3# SONIA HAS A BABY

BACK IN OCTOBER 2000

YES 10 YEARS AGO

EastEnders aired the 'unthinkable'

What a classic, this was the best storyline EVER,well at the time.Just in case you missed it back then,Sonia Jackson (before she was a Fowler) had a BABY,but she didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labour.Hence Robbie's shock, coupled with Sonia's pain and anger.Only in the Noughties !!

FF2# REWIND:N-Dubz

Back in 2006 the Underground scene fell in love with N-Dubz. Four years later N-Dubz have gone on to receive commercial success,Certified Platinum Albums and signed by Def Jam in the US.This would not of happened without the Underground success of 'I Swear' (below),the song that launched their career and a personal favourite of mine.

In my dreams

Morning

I know its been nearly two days since the MOBO's but I really enjoyed Jay wickkky (do you like my beat-boxing impression, maybe not!)Jean Sean's performance.Especially when Skepta joined him on stage,PLUS they appeared in my dream !!!!!

DEFINITELY THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT,HE SOUNDED EXACTLY THE SAME AS HE DOES ON THE TRACK

They previously collaborated on Skepta's Lush, and Jay Sean's Stay Remix feat Frisco,Chipmunk,Jammer and MC Zani.

AIN'T THEY JUST THE PERFECT COMBINATION !

Jay Sean's latest single 2012 is Out Now
Skepta's latest single Cross My Heart is also Out Now

FF1# : So 22 ND OCTOBER (1966)

On this day in 1966 The Supremes, became the first female group to reach No.1# in the Billboard 200 Album Chart with 'Supremes A'Go Go'.
My favourite song from the album is 'Can't Hurry Love',a classic most people have heard at last once before (Phil Collins did cover it lol).

Luminosity

When I think of 1995,various thoughts run through my head :

1.I was 8 then 9 years old
2.There was a World Athletics Championship that year (I am a Athletics fan)
3.It was also the hottest summer in my existence.
4.I also moved house this year
5.TAKE THAT split up :(

Well that was 1996, Robbie left in 1995

All I can say to Gary,Mark,Robbie,Howard and Jason  is WOW,what a great Album cover !
Fast Forward

15 years later and their back with Progress, their first album as a 5 piece since YES you guess it 1995 : )
Well haven't things changed since then, the boys are now men and now when your asked who's your favourite, the answer is no longer just Mark or Robbie.

The Lady Killer is coming !

Cee Lo Green has come back this year with a bang,F*** You is riding high in the charts and his highly anticipated album 'The Lady Killer' is due to be released.Earlier today Elektra Records (Cee Lo's label) released 1 min previews of the tracks on the album, which I believe will be well received.

I heard an album track called I Want You (BELOW) on the BBC Radio 1xtra R&B show on Monday, which I really like.

When I visited the Cee Lo Green's YouTube channel today,

I noticed that the track has been altered as it sounds different, but the lyrics are the same.To be honest I prefer the version I heard on the radio,as it reminds me of the Cee Lo from the Gnarls Barkley's St Elsewhere Album, which I had on repeat in 2006.

Do you remember the No.1# smash hit Crazy

Of course you do.It's strange as it was a massive hit back then just like how F** You is right now.It looks like history does repeat itself.

GIMME GIMME GIMME

NEW CIARA

We finally see Ciara back at what she does best.Just look at her dance moves,it reminds me of her videos for the UK No.1# hit Goodies (2005) and Like A Boy (2007).

'GIMME THAT' IS RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 29TH

Make Me Feel ...

Like I'm the only girl in the world.

OOh I love this !

This is another song that has grown on me,there is a similar track produced by David Guetta going around, which is slightly more commercial.'Only Girl' definitely wins the Rihanna Vs Rihanna Battle for me,la la la is enough.

Can they Make It A Hat Trick ?

I hope so !

NEW ROLL DEEP FEATURING ALESHA DIXON (BELOW)

IT'S HAS REALLY GROW ON ME,TAKE CONTROL IS RELEASED ON OCTOBER 31ST

From P's & Q's to a Spaceship

New Kano

Let me refresh your memory on Kano,if you have time press this link.Kano is known for helping to put Grime music on the map,he had hits such as Typical Me,Craig David featured on This Girl and he has collaborated with Damon Albarn repetitively. Most recently on his Method To The Maadness album,as well as featuring on 'White Flag' from The Gorillaz Plastic Beach album.

I'll never forget when Kano first hit the mainstream in 2005,he really stood out with the power of his lyrics.Even now that power is stronger than ever.I loved Upside with Michelle Breeze which was out a couple of months ago,I think it should be re-released.

Here's my favourite Kano tracks:

You MUST REMEMBER this beautiful song NITE,NITE ft The Streets (2005)

My favourite,it makes you say 'awww',BROWN EYES (2006)

Lastly the song that lauched his career P's and Q's (2004)

Girl Power is Back

More and more young girls, teenage girls, young women, just females in general are marking their mark this year.As I am still on this R&B vibe,I thought I'll share this with you.

ABOUT TIME WE GOT A NEW GIRL GROUP !!

Still WHIPPING IT

ANOTHER POST ON WILLOW YOU SAY!

Well I found the video and as promised I decided to share it with you,so I put it up.I went off,to have some food and 'HEY IT'S AVAILABLE NOW'.It makes me wonder,if it was only me,who had a problem 'embedding' the video onto their site .

Now as of 22:00 GMT (LONDON) :
After I posted this post with the YouTube video,I again, went off to do something else and then again the embedding request was disabled by the owner :( . Luckily I found a link for the video via Beauty & The Dirt who also featured an article on Willow. So thank you Mimi, look her up she's always on the beat.

I REPEAT JADA PINKETT-SMITH JUNIOR (AKA WILLOW SMITH) WHIP MY HAIR THE OFFICIAL VIDEO IS HERE JUST BELOW FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE ENJOY !

Time to hmm WHIP IT !!!!

Willow Smith's debut Video aka the video for 'Whip my hair' is finally out.I saw the video yesterday, but it was accessible (worldwide aka on YouTube) today, here is the link (press the word link lol) and all I can say is :

IT'S THE PERFECT VIDEO FOR A CATCHY YET MATURE SONG BY THIS AMAZING 9 YEAR OLD.WELL DONE WILLOW AND WELL DONE WILL AND JADA FOR PRODUCING SUCH A TALENTED OFFSPRING.

The video features Willow dipping her hair into paint and whipping it round & round until the walls are fully splatted with different colours of paint. There is also some great choreography in there, too.

The tribute video BELOW features a number of talented young girls dancing and acting to the beat of the song,as if it is their single. It was released last month and MY OH MY DID THEY DELIVER.

The song is already a big underground hit and I am personally expecting Cee Lo Green-F**k You viewing figures for this video,as it was been highly anticipated. Did I mention she is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation?
EXACTLY,WILLOW YOU ARE LIVING THE DREAM,SO KEEP ON WHIPPING YOUR HAIR !!

P.S. As soon as the video becomes available,I will share it with you.In the mean time the song is playing on my play-list on my virtual iPod .So enjoy or turn it off :( if it's not your taste, hopefully you will find something else you may like on there. You can give me some future suggestions if you want, any genre will do I like to listen to a mix of music.

Where are the fans ?

What do I mean?

Well it all started with Joe from last years X Factor !

Why do you ask ?

Well Joe McElderry's single Ambitions,'only' reached No.6# in the UK Top 40 Singles Chart, which is surprising as he has the machine that is Sony BMG and SYCO (Simon Cowell's Label) behind him.I had a look on-line and noticed that the video had received over a 1/4 of a million views, whilst others had double to over 10 times the amount of  views. An example of this is Cee Lo Green's video for F*** You,which had an amazing 1 million videos on it's first week and now has over 11,500,000 million views. No surprise that he is No.1# for the second week running and he has faced tough competition ,too.

Even the song Diva Fever sang on Saturday entered the chart at No.3#.The song in question is entitled Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce (aka Armand Van Helden and A-Trak),who like Joe was also a new entry on this week's chart.Duck Sauce are well connected in the music industry, their video is full of cameos which even include Kanye West (A-Trak was once his DJ).

Maybe SYCO didn't promote the single enough or maybe they thought the appearance on X Factor was enough.Sadly the music industry is much more competitive than previous years with more genres breaking into the mainstream.Especially with the success of Urban music (UK and American).Unfortunately for artists, it is getting HARDER and HARDER to break the market. You have to have an mass audience that will buy your singles etc.Popularity is not enough, high single/album/download sales = commercial success and fans = popularity.Popularity via fans ALONE just equals fans.

A good example of a commercially successful artist is Tinie Tempah, who has two singles (Written in the Stars and  Ibiza 2 Miami which features Tinie) released a week between each other.

Yet they are both in the Top 5!!

Also during that same period of time,Tinie also entered the album charts straight at No.1#.The first artist who derived from the UK Grime scene to have had two No1#  and 2 Top 5 singles from his debut Album.

All in All,good luck to Joe with his future releases,he is very talented and hopefully his true fans will stay with him on his post-X Factor journey.

X marks the spot (Part 2)

I missed the show on Saturday, but I've had a look back on the performances (don't you just love YouTube) and I love Matt's version of Bruno Mars 'Just the way you are'.As you may be aware I do like the original version,I even posted a blog on it last month. It looks like it's gonna stay in the UK Top 40 chart for a while. The song has actually climbed back up to No.2# spot this week,it was Number one last month, just in case you didn't know.

Back on the subject of Matt Cardle,he has been named as the 'Bookies favourite' again, which doesn't surprise me.He has an amazing voice I  KNOW but sadly have you heard about those Katie rumours.I'm not surprised,to be honest,it's seems that Katie's in the papers on a daily basis,so I don't know if the story is  even true.I'll tell you something which is X Factor related that did surprised me,but you will have to wait for the next post, this blog is long enough already.

Good luck,Diva Fever, but I doubt they'll need it.I enjoyed their performances but sadly they are not as strong as Belle Aime.Well we just have to wait until next Saturday it's good that the scandals are 'over' and we can just focus on the music now. Before I forget Storm Lee is out of the running too,he recieved the least votes but he will be fine. We must remember that he has waited 20 years for this amount of exposure and with Louis behind him,I don't think it will be the last we will see of him.

The Biggest Boss is BACK

The video's out,at last and I like it,I love the beat on this,it's my favourite track on the Teflon Don album.

Rick Ross delivers again,Drake does what he does best and so does Chrisette.I loved her single which she released last year entilted Epiphany, which also features Drake.Unfornuately,it did not achieve commerical succes in the UK,but her last album went straight to No.1# and sold over 415,000 copies in the US.I hope her record label decide to try and break the UK Market with her newest album Let Freedom Reign,I really do,as she is very talented and I would love to see her perform live.

Who Am I (Part Three): Aspirations

ASPIRATIONS

What did you want to be as a child, when you grew up ?
I didn’t know what I wanted to be until my teens, I wanted to be in the fashion industry. I love designing clothes and kept a folder of my designs.

So are you, aspiring to break the Fashion Industry?
No, who knows what could happen in a few years time, but definitely not in a creative traditional role. After I received a D in my Art GCSE, when I was expecting a B, I thought it wasn’t meant to be, so I didn’t dwell on my ‘failure’ and I pursued something else.I focused on Graphics as I got a B (and was predicted a C), so I continued with that. I later decided to study Marketing and Music & Media Management at London Metropolitan University. Which was a bit of a change, I lot of people actually thought I was studying Fashion  for a while as I did originally intend to study Fashion Promotion, even my Dad thought I was studying Fashion!

I later changed to BA Marketing, which really helped shape my thinking and understanding of the importance of commercial awareness and understanding the needs of the consumer.

What are your Career Aspirations
I just have one; I would like to build a long and successful career in the Media industry, in either a role in Marketing, Advertising, PR or Digital. I am actually very keen to learn more about Digital.

Why do you want to learn more about Digital ?
I would like to learn more about Digital Media and Marketing to be exact as:
1. Digital and Social Media has changed the way we connect with the world.
1a. YouTube has changed the way we watch music videos and television shows as well opening up a gateway to new learn things. You can learn a new language, learn how put on make-up and watch funny clips.
1b..Facebook rules the world and Twitter is an essential promotional tool for even Celebrities and well known brands.
2. It is a fast growing industry that will continue to shape other industry's,just as in how Marketing and IT departments of various organisations have begun to merge together or they now consists of personnel who seem to have similar job descriptions e.g SEO Executives
3. Digital Media is used by all industry's to promote their brand or products, so it would be good to have a great knowledge of the subject.
4. My highest graded module at University was in fact Digital Media Management (66%), what a coincidence.

Who Am I (Part Two) - My Interests

INTERESTS

Why did you start your blog?
Just as a freedom of expression, I am one of many bloggers but I aware that there are not many blogs written by a 24 year British South Sudanese female.

Who is…
1. A fashion lover but not a trend follower but if I like something which is ‘trendy’ I would buy it, if it would be a good addition to my wardrobe.

2. I love to buy and try new beauty products; my friends call me Boots (as in the chemist)

3. I am a foodie,I like it all, Italian, Chinese, Thai and of course Sudanese cuisine amongst others. I also have a sweet tooth and I recently fell in love with Hummingbird Bakery, if you are ever in London find a branch and try your a Red Velvet Cupcake for yourself.

4. I live and breathe music,I like to listen to all music genres.''My music'' is probably the kind which is played on Capital FM and Kiss FM but BBC Radio 1xtra and Choice FM my favourite radio stations.

What are your Interests?
Fashion, music, drawing, socialising and catching up with what's going on with the world with Google reader.Just life in general.

Who Am I (Part One)

As I am just your average blogger and  I'm not famous in anyway,I thought it would be nice to introduce myself properly to my audience. As the more you know about me,the more you will understand me and my blog.

Full Name
Bachay Daniella Omai Akolawin

Age
24

Height
5’8’

Place of Birth
Westminster, London

Where did you grow up?
I have always lived in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (just in case you don't live in England we have three Royal Boroughs), famous for Portobello Road, Kensington Palace, Harrods and Kings Road. I have lived in North Kensington, South Kensington and in both sides (North and South) of Chelsea I love London but I am of South Sudanese Origin so of I love Sudan, too.

Name five words your friends and family would use to describe you as
I think they would say that I am caring, commercially aware, creative, friendly, and quirky.

They Know

I first came across Marvell, last year when I heard the single Make Noise which was on the Playlist on BBC Radio 1xtra.The Marvell Boys consist of Double S,Vertex,Shocka and DJ Limit.Vertex is also a director,he has directed numerous Music Video's including Chipmunk's No.1# hit Oopsy Daisy and The Noisettes Don't Upset The Rhythm.

Their latest single,is entitled We Know,I love it and so will you by the way it's OUT NOW,available on iTunes.

Made to Flutter

I possess a set of the shortest lashes most people have or will ever see,as they are mine I love them and try my best to look after them. Therefore,I have never used eyelash extensions,as individual lashes can damage the eyelash bed.I have bought the strip variety of fake eyelashes in the past but I have never got the hang of the whole process.I found it quite fiddly, using tweezers and waiting for the glue to dry.

So I after my visit to H&M,I felt inspired to continue my quest for something new and took a visit to MAC.As I was aware that there was a wide range of lashes on offer,so I took a while to have a look around.Thankfully the Make-up Artist who served me,was very knowledgeable and recommended these Natural yet dramatic lashes (below).I'm sorry to say that,I can not find the label which states the name of the product, but I will try my best to look it up.

The MAC lashes transformed my lashes from THIS

Not a great pic,but you get the gist

to THIS

Best of all the Make up Artist put the lashes on for me,as she had half an hour spare,I was not charged for the application so I paided £8.50 for the lashes but I did not purchase the glue, which is also £8.50.I think it's a good deal,as Luxury Make up brands have the power to charge high prices for their products and I only paid a few pounds more then I would of at Boots etc, whereby no one would of applied the lashes on to an amaetuer like me.If you can apply your own lashes,do so as there are strip lashes as affordable as £1 in markets and hair & beauty supply stores in most town centres.Obviously the higher the price the higher quality you should expect.

So from now on,I'm going to become aquainted with false lashes (just for special occasions) and become a professional at applying the lashes,as it will only need practice .I don't know why I'm so optismistic either, but it can be done.

New Year,New Dress

Recently I celebrated my Birthday,so to celebrate I thought I'd make a effort to try something different for a change. On my travels I found a pink nude H&M dress, which I'd previously walked straight pass countless timeless before. It was placed at the front of the shop, near the front door's right beside a busy Bus Stop,in the Sale aisle. There was something about the dress which appealed to me but I couldn't put my finger on it. Until last Saturday !
WHY U ASK?  Well have a look below

Not the most appealing of dresses ever seen (on a hanger)
I thought it had potential but now,the Mid Season Sale finally arrived and made me have a second well fifth look.To my surprise,it was now 1/2 price at £15,plus there was a large batch of stock displayed in every size from XXS to XL.I took my normal sizes (S and M) and went straight into the fitting rooms.I tried the larger size first and was surprised to see a dress with little hanger appeal change right before my eyes.Unfornuately it was a little loose,as H&M sizes do tend to vary according to the fit and material,so I tried on the smaller size and here you have it.

                                                          I WAS READY TO CELEBRATE

Oh,the beauty of an accidental bargin.
P.S.Note to future self = Don't judge a dress by its appearance on a hanger (again)

X marks the spot

X FACTOR HAS TAKEN OVER OUR WEEKEND NIGHTS AND MAYBE EVEN OUR LIVES !!

Maybe NOT but wasn't Mary GREAT !!

So was Aiden ! He got into character, didn't he,he scared me a bit though.Well it paid off,the judges loved him and so do we,he's now the bookies favourite.

So happy John,Paije,Belle Aime and One Direction all got through, they all gave us an amazing performance. I was worried that they wouldn't secure enough votes and they would end up in the bottom three, phewww !!

I knew Aiden,Mary,Matt,Rebecca,Storm,Diva Fever (they worked it!!),Wagner (wacky!!) and Treyc, would go through. It's a shame that there's more talk about her bum then her singing at the moment,a BBC Radio host even started a discussion about it. He was bombarded with texts,Facebook and Twitter comments,a majority of  them were actually from women, who were complimenting Treyc's figure, stating that she is the UK's answer to JLo.

I think Cheryl I mean Cher did okay, don't get me wrong she can sing but her image is her asset.I'm afraid,'style over substance' is a quote which will be continually used whenever her name is mentioned, until she proves us all wrong. Why ? She hasn't topped her first performance at her audition. ! Therefore Cheryl's outburst yesterday after Cher's performance was not needed,Cher has not proved that she is better than Treyc.Treyc missed out on a place on the final 3 when Cheryl chose Cher instead of her.

That's why the public are angry CHERYL !!

Cher is a Cheryl mini-me which means that we are not surprised that she loves her. She's obviously a favourite of Cheryl's as Cher should of been the wild card not Treyc, end of.

Nicolo, that was a SURPRISE he did really well but he did do a Gaga number, though! I think we had enough of that last year,I'm afraid. It just shows what happens, when we as fans choose not to vote.

Sad about FYD but the groups always go first,I'm afraid.Shame they were up against Katie the judges love her.I don't,she can sing but Cheryl shouldn't of chosen her over Gamu.Katie (1) has had her chances, she had a record deal and a internet reality show .

(1) Katie in 2009

Unfortunately that doesn't even matter as it's reported that X Factor aka Simon Cowell bought her out of her record contract. Was she worth it,well lets wait and see.

(2) Gamu in tears during her interview
Back on to Gamu (2),the poor darling has been put into hiding (with the help of Simon Cowell) somewhere in Scotland. She faces deportation,as her mother's application to extend her Visa has been rejected,as she allegedly wrongly claimed £16,000 worth of state benefits. This was the reason the Home Office's reached such a decision, which could be life altering for Gamu and her family.Gamu appeared today on the News of the World, where she stated that she fears 'she'll face a firing squad if she is deported back to Zimbabwe'.This is due to the fact that herself and her family fled Zimbabwe and later settled in  Tillicoultry,Clackmannanshire in Scotland  for refuge. Luckily she has the help of the Scottish Government and Simon Cowell who has also put forward his lawyers to take on the case.Good Luck,Gamu.

P.S.Just makes you think, about how many unlucky families are sent back to the country they are trying to get away from :(
